Rotary Club Of Ojodu Shines With Public Image Award

Rotary Club of Ojodu has emerged as the Second-Best Club in Public Image among 78 Rotary clubs within Rotary International District 9111 at the just concluded District Conference 2026, tagged Royal Conference 2026, held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.

The recognition was presented during the District Conference Awards and Recognition Ceremony in acknowledgement of the club’s outstanding visibility, media presence, and strategic communication efforts in projecting Rotary’s humanitarian activities and community impact throughout the 2025/2026 Rotary year.

Receiving the award on behalf of the club, the Public Image Chair, Rotarian Ezenwa Opara, described the achievement as a reflection of hard work, consistency, teamwork, and the unwavering commitment of members towards promoting Rotary ideals and the principle of Service Above Self.

According to him, the award was a product of deliberate and sustained efforts to ensure that the club’s activities, projects, and humanitarian interventions were consistently projected through newspapers, television, online media, and social media platforms.

He stressed that public image remains a vital aspect of Rotary service because visibility helps to amplify the impact of humanitarian activities, inspire public confidence, and encourage greater community participation.

Rotarian Opara noted that beyond the awards and recognition, the true fulfilment for Rotarians comes from seeing lives positively touched through service and ensuring that such impactful stories are communicated to the wider society.

“As Rotarians, we render humanitarian services. The visibility and positive projection of these activities remain among the few ways the public appreciates and understands the sacrifices, commitment, and impact that Rotary continues to make within communities. Telling our stories is important because it inspires hope, encourages partnerships, and motivates others to serve humanity,” he stated.

He explained that the club’s public image drive during the Rotary year focused heavily on showcasing impactful community projects, youth development programmes, health outreaches, educational support initiatives, and several interventions aimed at improving the lives of people within Ojodu and neighbouring communities.

Rotarian Opara further stated that the recognition would serve as motivation for the club to continue strengthening its communication strategy, enhancing media engagement, and sustaining Rotary’s positive image within the public space.

He expressed profound appreciation to the President of the club, Rotarian Martins Nnanna, for his visionary leadership, encouragement, and unwavering support towards all public image activities of the club throughout the Rotary year and to the Board of Directors, members of the Public Image Team, and the entire membership of the club, fondly referred to as the “Pacesetters,” for their unity, dedication and collective contribution towards the success recorded by the club.

“This recognition belongs to every member of our club. It is a testament to our shared passion for humanitarian service and our determination to continue projecting Rotary positively while touching lives meaningfully within our community,” he added.

Over the years, the club has grown tremendously both in membership and impact, executing several life-changing projects and interventions targeted at supporting indigent individuals and vulnerable groups within the Ojodu community and beyond.

The club reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining excellence in service delivery, public image, stakeholder engagement, and humanitarian impact while continuing to uphold the core ideals and values of Rotary International.
