Zulum Presents Borno APC Gov Candidate To Tinubu
Babagana Zulum on Friday formally presented the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Borno State, Mustapha Gubio, to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
In a statement on Friday, the governor’s spokesman, Dauda Illiya, said Zulum, during the presentation, lauded Tinubu’s commitment to peace and reconstruction in the Northeast.
He noted that the President’s leadership has been instrumental to the APC’s cohesion and progressive governance in the region.
“The governor was accompanied by a member of the House of Representatives, Engr Bukar Talba,” Illiya said.
In May 1 the senator representing Borno Central, Kaka Lawan, withdrew from the governorship race and endorsed Gubio.
According to a statement by the senator’s legislative aide, Usman Alkali, the decision was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja.
